FAQs
Is Paint Polishing only for Showcars?
Not at all! A common misconception is that only people with expensive cars use this service. From your daily driven cars to high-end cars, there are many benefits to having a paint correction and polish done on your vehicle. If you find value in any of the following (any of these results fit your needs), then a paint correction is something to consider:
removes unsightly swirls and scratches
maintains the value of the vehicle to battle depreciation over time
restores and shields your paint from the Colorado elements
adds value to help sell your vehicle for a higher price
How often should a paint correction/polish be done?
It’s really up to you to make that call, but this is what we suggest. A Paint Enhancement is great to have done before winter and before summer to help protect against Colorado’s weather. While a Paint Correction may only be necessary once every year or two depending on the amount and severity of scratches the vehicles paint accumulates. If your vehicle is more prone to light scratches and swirls from things like kids, pets, long nails, tight parking conditions, frequent automated car washes, etc, it might be worth getting a light correction and polish every 3-6 months. If you have a garaged car that you only take out on weekends then maybe you get it touched up every year or two. There are many ways to come to the conclusion of how often your specific lifestyle warrants a need for paint correction services. A good piece of advice is that it is always easier to maintain something than it is to restore it. Smaller, more frequent Paint Enhancement services offer better results than waiting for the need of larger, less frequent Paint Corrections.
What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is an enamel top coat that is applied to the vehicle’s paint adding a durable layer of protection. The chemical properties of the coating add hydrophobic qualities to the the paint which helps water bead on the surface and glide off easier. This leaves less water spots and makes future washes more effective as the surface dirt and grime can be rinsed away much easier. Paint depth and shine are an extra bonus of a ceramic coating as well making this coating both functional and a great finishing touch.
How clean does my vehicle need to be?
The paint needs to be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated before a correction can happen. We want to avoid any contaminants on the paint when we correct and polish as those contaminants can cause more damage/scratches to the paint then when we started. All of our paint correction and polish services include a deep clean and decon of the paint so we can enhance your vehicle safely.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
Short answer - up to 1 year. However, there is no easy answer to this question. Being that the coating is not a permanent layer of paint like a clear coat, there are many factors that can determine how long the coating lasts. These factors include UV exposure (garaged vs direct sunlight), frequency of washes,
After getting a paint correction, we highly recommend our Wash + Protect service on a regular routine (every 30-60 days) because we add a top coat to help extend the life of the ceramic coating.
Why Paint Correction instead of new paint?
That’s up to you to decide ultimately. Think of it this way, a paint correction can get your paint to look +95% like brand new paint while only costing 30-50% of a new paint job on average. Plus you get the added benefits ceramic coating and a much quicker turnaround on the service.
